Strong Demand for Flexible Workspace Drives Expansion at Preferred Offices

Firms Combat Economic Uncertainty with Short, Flexible Commitments

Washington DC, USA — March 5, 2009 — Despite the current economic crisis, business is improving for Preferred Offices. Falling business confidence levels and general economic uncertainty are driving small businesses to short term, highly flexible office space solutions at a record pace in Preferred's Washington DC-area business centers. Collectively, Preferred centers have seen an increase in demand of 15% since December 2007.

Based on this continuing demand, the company will open its ninth DC metro area Center in March in Rosslyn. Angie O'Grady, COO of Preferred Offices, commented, "We're encouraged that so many businesses are turning to flexible workplace solutions. We provide fully equipped professional offices as a service that can be purchased for whatever duration required, so our clients avoid all of the upfront investment requirements and long-term liabilities that normally go along with setting up and running an office. This is a huge advantage in uncertain times."

She continued, "Our new center in Rosslyn gives us an opportunity to deliver a best-in-class solution to the Arlington submarket, a vibrant area that is critical to the federal subcontracting community. Preferred allows government contractors to tailor workspace to specific contract demands... At the end of their business requirements, clients have no assets to mothball, no breakage costs and no subleasing requirements. Preferred keeps government contractors nimble, and gives them stimulating executive environments for whatever length of time they might need. "

The Rehancement Group provides management consulting services to the federal government and is currently a tenant at Preferred Offices Reston Town Center location. Formerly a home-based business, Rehancement shopped for space at four executive office locations.

A conservative organization, they did not want to assume the risk of the capital expense of technical infrastructure and support, furniture, and front office staffing. "Preferred offered an extremely professional image and credibility for Rehancement with an excellent quality of service and attention to detail. This turnkey operation has allowed us to focus on what we do best, servicing our clients," said David Baker, a principal with the firm. Rehancement started with a virtual office at Preferred in July 2008, and now leases three offices at the Reston Town Center location.

Preferred Offices affords its clients like Rehancement a distinctive workspace environment that conveys a feeling of warm professionalism. Prestigious addresses, a well-educated staff, beautifully appointed executive offices and conference rooms and state-of-the-art business infrastructure are the hallmarks of the Preferred Offices brand. With services that include dedicated bandwidth, reception, administrative support, and audio and web conferencing, small businesses can enjoy all of the tools of a large corporation - with no capital outlay.

The newest Center will be housed in Potomac Tower, a Class A landmark office building designed by I.M. Pei located at 1001 North 19th Street, two short blocks from the Rosslyn Metro. The 18,000 SF center will open on March 30th with sixty-two offices and three meeting rooms. Preferred Rosslyn will feature dozens of offices with monumental views of Washington DC, Georgetown and the Potomac River. In addition, the center will be the first in the country with an innovative and secure electronic access system for individual offices. Clients will enjoy enhanced technology offerings, such as interactive LCD white boards and secure Cisco VOIP telephony.

O'Grady is excited about moving into Rosslyn. "We are pleased to introduce the first new business Center to Rosslyn in nearly two decades and the first Preferred Offices Center in Arlington County. Rosslyn is the only location that is separated from both K Street and the Pentagon by only one Metro stop; it is unsurpassed in its convenience, accessibility and value."
